Mitchell House50 Residents, 70 Staff, Borough Council Residential Home specialising in dementia and respite care Pam Butterworth Residential Manager of Mitchell House explained the home has had a number of nurse call systems in the past and was running both a hard-wired and a radio system, which was installed only 3 years previously by a leading manufacturer. Pam highlighted various problem areas in her discussions with us, and says, "the current radio system was expensive to maintain and staff pagers were unreliable. The hard-wired section of the building also gave cause for concern, and with numerous exit doors wandering residents were a major issue". Courtney-Thorne undertook an appraisal of the site and following discussions with the Social Services were commissioned to supply and install a new radio system that met the requirements of the home. |
The Courtney-Thorne system installed uses the very latest technology and operates on a pan European frequency with built in security features, which guarantees interference free communication. Door contact units were installed on all of the exit doors to monitor wandering residents. Following the successful installation we asked Pam what made her choose Courtney-Thorne. She quotes, "I was impressed with the company and its reputation, from demonstration to installation everything went smoothly. The follow-up after sales discussions and certification were all the marks of a professional company". |
