Laurel Bank Care Home36 Residents, Residential Care Home Situated in two acres of ground on the edge of the New Forest in Hampshire is Laurel Bank Residential Care Home. After having had a hard wired system for many years, problems with the wiring and obsolete parts forced them to look for a new nurse call system. "After the problems with wiring it had to be a wireless system" says Director Pat Baughan. "Being such a big investment we chose Courtney-Thorne as it was a sensible system." One feature they particularly liked was the door alarms. "With many wandering patients we were concerned that they might wander out at night and slip outside. Now we make sure we set the door alarms in the evenings and we have found it a very handy feature" says Pat. |
Laurel Bank is considering expansion, and with a Radio Nurse Call System this provides no problems. Even if a home considers becoming dual registered, and taking in residents that need nursing. Pat says "we might consider becoming a nursing home in the future, we liked the fact that Courtney-Thorne provides equipment such as pressure mats and bed and chair sensors." The Courtney-Thorne system is easy to use for both staff and residents. As Pat comments "we are easily able to reprogramme the room units and relocate them ourselves if necessary." |
